Isle of Man Nautical Museum

Client: Manx National Heritage

We are delighted to be a part of the team appointed to deliver the transformation of the Nautical Museum in Castletown on the Isle of Man.

A competitive bid, led by Dannatt Johnson Architects brings together Steensen Varming, AECOM, Fraser Randall alongside Island based architects Horncastle:Thomas and quantity surveyers Magee & Co. We bring our narrative planning and exhibition design expertise to the project.

The project combines conservation and repair of the entire historic Nautical Museum site with an architecturally distinct, sustainable and sympathetic design for a new-build display boathouse for the historic ship, The Peggy.

The completed project will combine the highest standards of conservation and adaptation of existing historic buildings with innovative and accessible approaches to exhibition design transforming the site into a world-class, all weather attraction for Castletown.
