Diamonds
Client: Natural History Museum, London
Within the vaulted ceilings and terracotta walls of the Natural History Museum's temporary exhibition space, our design for Diamonds had the air of a prestigious celebratory party. Theatrical lighting, soundtrack, red carpet and VIP area created a sophisticated and seductive setting for the most valuable gems and jewellery ever exhibited. Different structures highlighted aspects of the diamonds’ geological formation, treatment and value. An egg-shaped VIP lounge showcased the most precious of the gems; a frosted glass box accented with diamond cross-sections – a 'living sculpture' area – revealed diamond cutting and polishing techniques. High quality finishes and bold colours emphasised the luxury and exclusivity associated with the gems.
