Discover Greenwich
Client: The Greenwich Foundation
Discover Greenwich plays a vital part in creating a new, permanent exhibition gateway into the World Heritage Site. Set within a grand, Grade II listed engineering shed, our scheme maintains the integrity of the building's scale, materials and dimensions. A translucent model of Greenwich at the exhibition's centre orientates the visitor geographically and historically, through LED lighting and AV projection. Themes, which can then be explored through artefacts, texts and interactives, include the site's rich architectural history, craftsmanship and archaeological discoveries, as well as the roles the buildings have played as royal palace, hospital and naval college.
Our role included design of the exhibition, tourist information centre, signage, shop, bar and café (see The Old Brewery project, under Interiors).
