ROYAL ACADEMY CELEBRATES OCEANIA

After the blockbuster success of its Real Studios-designed Revolution: Russian Art 1917-1932 exhibition, the Royal Academy of Arts has invited us to design its landmark autumn 2018 show, Oceania, the first major survey of Oceanic art to be held in the UK. Featuring an exceptional collection of ancient and modern art from Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia, our scheme will reinforce and enrich the presentation via themes of voyaging, place-making and encounter. The show marks the 250thanniversary both of the Royal Academy's founding and of legendary Pacific explorer Captain James Cook's first voyage on The Endeavour. Treasure re-united for Waddesdon Manor

Real Studios is delighted to be working with Waddesdon Manor on a display of 12 exquisite European silver-gilt standing cups, known as the 'Aldobrandini Tazze' for Silver Caesars: A Renaissance Mystery, which runs for three months, from April 2018.  These 16thcentury cups each depict 4 scenes from the lives of the 12 Caesars over 150years of Roman history, but nobody knows who commissioned or made them, and atsome point they were mis-matched and dispersed all over the world. This show, transferring from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, is the first time they have been correctly matched and exhibited together for 400 years. Image Caption: Anonymous goldsmith.
