Museum of Natural History

Client: The University of Oxford

Our scheme for the 12 central showcases in the Museum of Natural History's grand vaulted hall, provides an introduction to the whole of the museum's vast collection. It focuses on drawing out the narrative of the exhibits with a layering of innovative artefact displays and a clear graphic hierarchy for the text and captions.

This was the first commission of many, over a 10-year period, where we worked closely with the museum's multidisciplinary teams to ensure that the displays engage all the museum's diverse audiences, and that it remains a vital Oxford attraction for visitors and academics alike.

Our role:

  • Funding bid support

  • Exhibition design

  • Graphic design with Surface 3

  • Design & build delivery
