Afghanistan - Crossroads of the Ancient World
Client: The British Museum
Our design placed huge photographic backdrops and a stirring documentary at the entrance to the exhibition, reinforcing the context of today's battle-torn Afghanistan landscape against the treasures discovered beneath it and preserved against the odds over the last century. We displayed finds from four different digs in arrangements that either echoed the placement in which they were discovered, or showcased the ingenuity of the design – as in the shimmering gold fold-away crown for a nomad princess. Atmosphere and drama were created by throwing the objects and their complex trading history into sharp focus.
