Airspace
Client: Imperial War Museum, Duxford
Our inspiring and interactive permanent exhibition brings the 100-year history of British aviation to life in Hangar 1 at Imperial War Museum, Duxford. A sculptural ‘flightpath’ guides visitors through the exhibition spaces, at times enclosing areas, at times highlighting an end or a beginning, and at times drawing attention to the aircraft displays on the floor below.
Bold, large-scale displays provide layered information to suit both first time visitors and enthusiasts. Mechanical interactives for simulating aircraft flight and the principle of lift, thrust and control sit alongside aviation heritage, woven with personal narratives, multi-media presentations, models, objects and graphics.
