Real Studios' design brings clarity and drama to a celebration of Science Fiction literature at The British Library. Theatrical set-pieces, outstanding illustrations and artefacts enliven this exploration of a fascinating and diverse literary genre. A glowing, white spaceship has crash-landed into a replica set of white bookshelves, in the entrance to the British Library's Out of This World exhibition - a vivid metaphor for the science fiction genre's explosive impact on literary conventions. This exhibition aims to reveal the range of science fiction's literary canon. Content is sorted into five thematic spaces: future worlds; alien worlds; parallel worlds; virtual worlds and the end of the world. Each area features a sculptural set-piece, harnessing the rich outpourings of creativity the genre has inspired the displays are enriched with illustrations, first-editions, and memorabilia.
