NOW OPEN: UNSEEN TREASURES OF THE PORTLAND COLLECTION
Our second rehang draws out new perspectives and appreciation of this astonishing collection built up over 400 years. Rarely seen Tudor and Jacobean portraits have been grouped as a striking ‘salon hang’ in the Long Gallery. Meanwhile objects of personal significance – from jewellery to textiles – are grouped in a more intimate setting, against blue and green walls in the Side Gallery, with a remarkable four-poster bed at its centre.
The addition of 3 imaginative trails enriches the experience of children and adults alike and a new welcome panel boldly places the title of the exhibition in pink neon at the entrance. We’ve been working with the Harley Foundation team for more than 20 years and it’s always a pleasure!
